Remove/Install Spring Link and Replacement Of Rubber Mount
- except CODE (487) Active body control (ABC)
DANGER:
- Lethal injuries are possible if vehicle slips off of lifting platform
- Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
CAUTION:
- While working on the rear axle care must be taken to ensure that the surface of all aluminum components do not get any scratches, cracks and notches. Otherwise the service life of the parts will be affected
- See notes on self-locking nuts and bolts
1 Raise vehicle.
2 Remove exhaust pipe at flange.
3 Remove shield from track control arm (6g).
NOTE: Remove by extracting the pin from the expansion rivet, then remove the rivet from the spring link and spring link cover.
4 Remove spring link (6) from rear axle carrier
CAUTION:
- Installation: The rear-axle shaft must be horizontal when tightening the nut
- Tighten bolts and nuts in accordance with swing angle
5 Remove spring link (6) from wheel carrier
CAUTION: Installation: The rear-axle shaft must be horizontal when tightening the nut
6 Remove suspension strut (6j) from spring link (6)
Inspecting
7 Check rubber mount (6b) of spring link (6) in rear axle carrier
- Necessary after checking, remove/install spring link rubber mount
8 Install in the reverse order
