AR49.10-P-5531AA Remove/Install Catalytic Converter or Front Exhaust System

Remove and installing catalytic converter or front exhaust system







1 Separate plug connections of sensors.
2 Unscrew bolts (11/5) with nuts (11/3) at flange connection between front exhaust system / rear exhaust system.
3 Unscrew screws (11/1) at flange connection of front exhaust system/exhaust manifold.
- If bolts are sluggish, or thread damaged, Replace rivet nuts in exhaust manifold.

4 Unscrew nuts (11/2) on bracket.

CAUTION: Replace nuts.

5 Lift out catalytic converters (158) or front exhaust system.

CAUTION: Check seal rings (11/4) for damage and replace if necessary.

- Use emery cloth to remove combustion and corrosion residues at connection points.
- Replace nuts (11/3).

6 Install in the reverse order.

NOTE: Installation: Install three-way catalytic converters (158) without stress.
