Level Control Solenoid Valve: Service and Repair



Removing and Installing Level Control Valve Unit
- except CODE (487) Active body control (ABC)







NOTE: See notes on AIRmatic

1 Empty AIRmatic system using Star Diagnosis
2 Remove compressor
3 Disconnect connector from AIRmatic pressure sensor (B7)
4 Disconnect valve unit connector (Y36/6x1)
5 Unscrew pressure line connections (1VL, 2VR, 3HL, 4HR, 5SP, P)

CAUTION: Observe pressure line assignment

NOTE: Seal pressure lines with blind plugs during repair work

- If the pressure line connections and pressure lines are damaged, Repair AIRmatic pressure line connection

6 Unscrew nuts (arrows) and remove level control valve unit (Y36/6)
7 Remove rubber buffer on level control valve unit
8 Install in reverse order
9 Fill AIRmatic system using Star Diagnosis

NOTE: Fill to 5 bar

CAUTION: The wheels must not contact the ground while filling as the air spring bellows in the spring strut are damaged beyond repair when filling in the compressed condition

10 Check AIRmatic for leaks.
