AR46.30-P-0500NA Remove/Install Power Steering Pump

Remove/Install Power Steering Pump
- with CODE (487a) Active body control (ABC)

NOTE: See notes on active body control suspension

1 Detach left air intake hose
2 Slacken bolts (41a) on belt pulley (41)
3 Remove poly-V-belt (130)
4 Tension and secure poly-V belt idler pulley (arrow)

NOTE: To secure use 5 mm dia. round bar

5 Unbolt belt pulley (41)
6 Unplug connector of suction restrictor valve (Y86/1)
7 Clamp off feed line (58) from ABC supply reservoir with clamp (08) and detach
8 Clamp off feed line (30f) from power steering pump supply reservoir with clamp (08) and detach.
9 Unclip suction restrictor valve line from power steering pump/ABC supply reservoir bracket (28a)
10 Detach lines from power steering pump supply reservoir (30a) and ABC supply reservoir (29a)
11 Detach and remove power steering pump/ABC supply reservoir bracket (28a)

NOTE: Attached with two nuts and one bolt.

12 Unscrew high-pressure expansion hose (30i) and move out of the way to the rear
- Seal off line connection with blind plug.

CAUTION: Installation: Install new sealing rings.

13 Unscrew ABC high-pressure hose (59)

NOTE: Installation: check O-rings on high-pressure hose (59) and replace if necessary

14 Remove lower engine compartment lining (middle)
15 Undo bracket (59b) for ABC high-pressure hose (59) from refrigerant compressor
16 Detach rear ground cable (30s) at power steering pump bracket (30t)
17 Unbolt power steering pump bracket (30t) at power steering pump

NOTE: Two bolts.

18 Unbolt bracket of power steering pump (30t) at engine block
19 Disconnect and remove power steering pump (30)

NOTE: One nut at the rear, two bolts at the front

CAUTION:
- Replace self-locking bolts, if necessary; pay attention to the following instructions:
- Never retap the thread.
- Use original bolts only.
- Do not position bolts at an angle when screwing in.
- Do not use an impact wrench.

20 Install in the reverse order
21 Fill and bleed active body control (ABC)
22 Filling and bleeding power steering pump.
