AR83.50-P-9020M Remove/Install Rear AC Housing
- with CODE (582) Rear air conditioning












DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning. Inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors may be toxic. Risk of injury from skin and eye contact with liquid refrigerant.
- Do not carry out any welding work on the closed air conditioning system or in the surrounding area. No smoking or open flames. Wear eye protection and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been discharged.


CAUTION: Protect air conditioning circuit and components from moisture when carrying out repair work.

1 Drain air conditioning (recycle), evacuate, charge, check for leakage

NOTE: Resupply suctioned off quantity of compressor oil to refrigerant circuit when filling air conditioning system (new oil).

DANGER:
- Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.
- Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 degrees C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.


2 Reduce pressure in cooling system

NOTE: To do this, turn radiator cap into position "1"and reseal.

3 Drain coolant, pour in
4 Remove front seats
5 Remove rear AC control module (N22/4)
6 Remove center console (1)
7 Spit back left and right floor covering
8 Unscrew bolt (2), close heat exchanger
- Separation point of coolant lines to rear air conditioning heat exchanger: 8 N.m

9 Unplug connector (3)
10 Unscrew bolt (4), detach refrigerant lines (5)

NOTE:
1. Plug openings (parts kit)
2. Installation: Replace O-rings. Moisten thread with compressor oil.

- Separation point of refrigerant lines at rear air conditioning evaporator: 8 N.m

11 Unclip and detach air ducts (7)
12 Unscrew 4 bolts (6)
13 Remove rear air conditioning module (8).
14 Replace receiver/drier
15 Install in the reverse order.

NOTE: After completing the operations correct engine coolant level. Perform leakage test.
