Vacuum Element For Diverter Flap

Purpose
The diverter flap actuator motors control the diverter flaps (air coming directly from evaporator to center nozzle) for control of the air flow to center nozzle or the left and right side separately.


Function
The diverter flap actuator motors are actuated via the center nozzle electronic circuitry control module, the A/C bus and electronic stepping motor control module depending on the desired air, exit temperature at the center nozzle.

Diverter flap open 0% (only when center nozzle is in AUTO position)

Automatic (only when center nozzle is in AUTO position)

Automatic diverter flap control
The diverter flaps are controlled separately on the left and right. The diverter flaps open beginning at an outdoor temperature > 20 °C.
If the temperature difference between the temperature measured by the in-car temperature sensor and, that set on the pushbutton control module is within the adjustment range of +1 to +6°C, the diverter flap depend linearly from 0 - 100%
