Front Seat Adjustment Switch Cluster, w/Memory
Illustrated On Front Left Door:
Location
The driver/passenger-side seat adjustment switch train (memory) (S91/2,S92/2) is located in the door lining next to the inside door located system
Design
The various switches are installed in a housing. Beyond this the seats and steering column can be adjusted and three positions stored and retrieved via the memory feature. The voltage codings for the individual switching states are read out by the door control module.
By actuating the individual switches of the front seat adjustment it is possible to move the seat to the desired position.
Position detection for the seat is carried out via Hall sensor at the adjusting function motors.
Rotational direction assignment is automatic.
Switch actuation
There are two ways of storing each respective position:
a. First of all the memory switch (S91/2s9 or S92/2s9) is held down and then the storage place 112, 3 switch (S91/2s14) or (S92/2s14) pressed.
b. First of all the memory switch (S91/2s9 or S92/2s9) is pressed and then released. Following this the corresponding storage place button on the storage place 1,2,3 switch (S91/2s14) or (S92/2s14) is pressed (within t <= 3s).
Storage
Storage is in the driver/passenger front seat adjustment control module with memory (N32/1, N32/2).
Retrieving the stored positions
The corresponding storage place button is pressed on the storage place 1,2,3 switch (S91/2s14) or (S92/2s14) until the seat has moved to the stored position.
If the position button is released during the setting up of a stored position the adjustment procedure is terminated immediately.
NOTE: If the key-related storage function is active on the instrument cluster then this is carried out first. In other words the driver's seat is moved to the position assigned to the key the last time it was used.
