Check Engine Lamp Illuminated
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the check engine light illuminated with various codes, it may be caused by oil leaking into the wiring harness at the magnet of the camshaft adjuster. To resolve, perform the below procedure.
1. Check electrical connectors of the engine wiring harness for oil contamination, i.e. 02 sensor, air mass sensor, engine control unit, etc.
2. Replace contaminated parts as required.
3. Install and secure additional adaptor (Figure 1) between the magnet of the camshaft adjuster and the engine wiring harness (Figure 2).
