Power Mirror Switch: Description and Operation

Outside Rearview Mirror Adjustment Switch

Outside Rearview Mirror Adjustment Switch:

Location
The switches for adjusting the outside rearview mirrors are located at the left of the steering wheel together with the exterior lamp switch (S1s1) and the button for the headlight cleaning system (special equipment) in the light switch module (S1).

Design
All the switches for adjusting the outside rearview mirrors are located in the light switch module (S1). This switch train is connected to the front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1) by means of a discrete cable harness.

Function
The switching states of the switches for adjusting the outside rearview mirrors are read in by the front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1), evaluated by it and then sent to the CAN in the form of a message.

Task
The outside rearview mirror high/low, inward/outward rocker switch (S1s6) enables the left and right-hand outside rearview mirrors to be adjusted in the vertical and horizontal. The mirror adjustment switches left (S1s4) and right (S1s5) are used to determine which of the two outside rearview mirrors are adjusted.

With Code 500b:
The outside rearview mirror folding-in switch (S1sZ), outside rearview mirror folding-out switch (S1s3) enable both outside rearview mirrors to be folded in or out (special equipment).
