Head Restraint Release Valve

Location
The head restraint release valve (Y24/1) is located in the trunk in the direction of motion, to the left above the wheel house.

Task
Closing and opening of the pneumatic line.

Design
The head restraint release valve (Y24/1) is an electro-magnetically actuated 3/2-way pneumatic valve.

Function
When a voltage is applied, the valve's solenoid forces a spring contact to open and releases the pneumatic line's cross section. As soon as the voltage is removed the valve is closed again by the spring contact.
