Central Locking Emergency Unlocking, Function
In case of an accident, the emergency opening function unlocks all doors and the tailgate.
When at least one crash signal is received from either the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) or the restraint Systems control module (N2/7) the vehicle is unlocked following an eight to eleven second delay.
In addition, the following switches are enabled: the remote trunk lid release switch (S15/1) in the trunk lid lock (if not secured in the 90 ° position) and, via CAN, the trunk lid release switch (S20/1s6) (model 203.0 only).
All locking functions are deactivated for approx. ten seconds:
- CL[ZV] interior switch
- Transmitter key
- Automatic re-locking
- Automatic locking
Once this time span has expired, all locking functions are enabled again except for the automatic locking function.
Important: The anti-theft alarm system (ATA (EDW). code 551, is not deactivated.
The emergency opening function is canceled (i.e. the last locking state is reestablished) when circuit 15 is recognized as being OFF for at least two seconds.
The central locking system cannot be actively controlled by turning the ignition on and off.
NOTE: The emergency opening function overrides all other central locking functions.
