1. Remove plugs for holes (A) in side members.

Stop plugs can be discarded.

2. Remove plug for the 36 mm dia. hole (B) below the left taillamp.

Stop plug can be discarded.

Installation shown on model 203.0 with shortened longitudinal member reinforcement

3.1 Tighten the right longitudinal member reinforcement (6) and left longitudinal member reinforcement (7) finger-tight with two bolts (11) each.

On vehicles with long right longitudinal member reinforcement (6) and long left longitudinal member reinforcement (7), these must first be inserted into the longitudinal members of the vehicle.

4. Push on seals (5).
5. Screw in threaded studs (12) (see individual picture) in left and right bracket of trailer hitch.

6. Fit alignment punches (30) onto the outer upper studs (see magnified views).

The alignment punches (30) are the same for the left and right.

7.1 Insert trailer hitch (2) with right longitudinal member reinforcement (6) and left longitudinal member reinforcement (7) into longitudinal members.
7.2 Fasten trailer hitch (2) to right longitudinal member reinforcement (6) and left longitudinal member reinforcement (7).

On vehicles with long right longitudinal member reinforcement (6) and long left longitudinal member reinforcement (7), these have already been inserted into the vehicle longitudinal members.

8. Screw trailer hitch (2) finger-tight to rear center section with one spring washer and one M10 self-locking nut (9) per side.

The M10 nuts (9) and spring washers are accessible via the trunk.

9. Fasten right longitudinal member reinforcement (6) and left longitudinal member reinforcement (7) finger-tight to longitudinal members with two M10 x 25 mm micro-encapsulated bolts (8) each.

Observe fastening points on vehicles with long right longitudinal member reinforcement (6) and long left longitudinal member reinforcement (7).

10 Remove alignment punches (30) and fasten trailer hitch (2) finger-tight to rear center section with one spring washer and one M10 self-locking nut (9) per side.

11. Fit anchoring lug with spring washer to micro-encapsulated M10 x 60 mm bolt (10) and screw in on left and right side of trailer hitch bracket to torque Nm.
12. Tighten both self-locking nuts (9) on left and right in trunk side compartments to the specified tightening torque Nm.

13. Tighten both micro-encapsulated bolts (11) on left and right of trailer hitch (2) to the specified tightening torque Nm.
14. Tighten right longitudinal member reinforcement (6) and left longitudinal member reinforcement (7) to longitudinal members to specified torque using two micro-encapsulated bolts (8) each Nm.

Observe fastening points on vehicles with long right longitudinal member reinforcement (6) and long left longitudinal member reinforcement (7).

15. Remove bumper bracket (20).

The bumper bracket (20) is fastened with eight bolts (see location of bolts (14)). The bumper bracket (20) and bolts can be discarded.

16. Bolt bumper bracket panel (3) provided onto bumper covering using bolts (14) provided.
