AN31.19-P-8080-03F Connect Wiring Harness
Component Identification:
1. Guide trailer hitch wiring harness (1) through existing bore below the left tail light and plug with grommet (i).
2. Route trailer hitch wiring harness (1) along the crossmember (2) and secure with clips on existing stud bolt (see magnification).
3. Pass trailer hitch socket (X58) to bracket below crossmember (2).
Illustrated on model 203.0 (sedan)
4. Guide trailer hitch wiring harness (1) along existing wires to the installation location of the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and secure.
5. Connect brown wire (br) to SAM central ground in rear (W55).
Illustrated on model 203.0 (sedan)
6. Plug violet 3-pin coupling (vi) into violet slot (15) of the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
The violet coupling (vi) is coded.
7. Plug the turquoise and back fuse holders (N10/2f17, N10/2f18) into the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and assign a 20 A fuse to each.
Fuse 17: turquoise holder with red/green wire (rt/gn)
Fuse 18: black holder with red/yellow wire (rt/ge)
Plug in fuse 18 in back holder only when towing a trailer, otherwise the battery could be drained by an external user.
8. The trailer detection control module (N28/1) is clipped on the rear of the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) into an existing strap and secured with a self-tapping 6 x 12 mm torx bolt.
9. Connect the 16-pin and 6-pin couplings to the trailer hitch control module (N28/1).
The lever must be pushed in the direction of the arrow to lock the 16-pin coupling.
10. Position trailer hitch socket (X58) in socket carrier (10a) and push socket housing (10) onto trailer hitch socket (X58) and seal with sleeve (10b).
Ensure that the sealing fold of the grommet (10b) bears against the socket housing (10) without creases.
Shown on model 220
11. Fasten trailer hitch socket (X58) to trailer hitch bracket with three 4.8 x 32 mm self-tapping screws.
