1 Remove internal component (10) and impact absorber (11) from rear bumper (9).
2 Remove bumper protective strip (12) from rear bumper (9).
Bumper protective strip (12) is no longer required.

3 Insert installation housing (7) into new bumper protective strip (8) as shown in picture and engage (see magnified section).
4 Insert sensors (5) into installation housing (7) as shown in picture and engage (see magnified section).
The decoupling rings (6) of the sensors (5) must lie against the edge of the sensor holes in the bumper protective strip (8). When the sensors (5) are installed, their end faces should not touch the bumper protective strip (8).

5 Install bumper protective strip (8) with sensors (5) in rear bumper (9).
6 Install impact absorber (11) in rear bumper (9).
7 Route sensor wiring harness (13) in internal component (10) of rear bumper (9) as shown in picture and secure in position.
8 Connect sensor wiring harness (13) to sensors (5) as shown in picture.
9 Install internal component (10) in rear bumper (9).

10 Remove vehicle's own stop plug from body opening (see arrow).
The vehicle's own stop plug is no longer required.

11 Route plug of PTS connector, rear bumper (X35/28) on sensor wiring harness (13) through body opening in vehicle and seal body opening with rubber grommet (15) of sensor wiring harness (13) (see arrow).
