Triggering Alarm Via Outer Skin Contact
When the anti-theft alarm system (ATA[EDW]) is activated, any actuation of the outer skin contacts will trigger the alarm. The outer skin contacts are:
- Left front door contact switch (S17/3)
- Right front door contact switch (S17/4)
- Left rear door contact switch (S17/5), not in model 203.7
- Right rear door contact switch (S17/6), not in model 203.7
- Trunk lid rotary tumbler microswitch (517/8)
- Engine hood ATA[EDW] switch (S62)
- Trailer hitch socket (13-pin) (X58)
- Left rear window glass breakage sensor (B39). only in model 203.2 with interior motion sensor (special equipment)
- Right rear window glass breakage sensor (B39/1), only in model 203.2 with interior motion sensor (special equipment)
- Rear window glass breakage sensor (B39/4), only in models 203.2, 203.7 with interior motion sensor (special equipment)
For the alarm to be triggered, the control module alarm input to which the respective contact is connected must be armed through activation of the ATA[EDW].
NOTE: Once the alarm is triggered, it cannot be stopped by reversing contact actuation. For example, by closing a previously opened door.
