Tie Rod End: Service and Repair



Removing And Installing Tie Rod Ball Joint







CAUTION: Installation Replace self-locking nuts

1 Press tie rod joint out of steering knuckle m
2 Loosen tapered clamping ring (10f) while holding on hex. shaft
3 Unscrew tie rod end
4 Check joint for play and damaged rubber boot.
- Replace tie rod ball joint, if necessary

NOTE: The inner joint of the tie rod is permanently connected to the drag link and can therefore only be replaced with the drag link.

5 Install in reverse order
6 Check and adjust toe-in at front axle
