AR46.30-P-0500A Remove/Install Power Steering Pump



Removing And Installing Power Steering Pump


4, 5 And 6 Cylinder Engines:




8 Cylinder Engines:




12 Cylinder Engines:






1 Draw off oil from reservoir
2 Disconnect feed line from reservoir
3 Remove add-on parts (e.g air intake hose, fan shroud, ignition, distributor, etc ) to expose power steering pump, depending on the engine vanant.
4 Remove poly V-belt
5 Detach belt pulley (41) on ZF power steering pumps

NOTE: The belt pulley is a shrink fit on LUK power steering pumps.

6 Unscrew high pressure stretch hose (30i) and return line (30f)

NOTE: Seal pipe connections with blind plugs.

7 Detach high-pressure stretch hose (27a) and suction line (27b) on tandem pump
- Vehicles with level control
- Seal pipe connections with blind plugs
8.1 Detach oil lines (27b, 30f) to oil cooler pipe.
8.2 Detach oil lines (27c, 27d)
9 Detach power steering pump (30)

NOTE: On models 129 and 140 with 8-cylinder engine, remove power steering pump with beam, then detach power steering pump or reservoir from beam.

10 Install in reverse order
11 Fill and bleed power steering pump
