AR01.10-P-4190B Remove/Install Carrier of Power Steering Pump



Removing And Installing Carrier Of Power Steering Pump
- with CODE (580) & (581A) Air Conditioning






1 Remove left charge air pipe

NOTE: Engines with supercharger in models 170, 202, 208 charge air pipe (intercooler/intake manifold)

2 Unbolt level control line at tandem pump
- Engine 111.944/975 with level control

NOTE: Installation: Drain pressurized oil system, fill

3 Unbolt power steering pump (45)

NOTE: Place to the side with oil lines connected

4 Unbolt brackets (11, 12)
5 Unbolt bracket (47)

NOTE: On engines with aluminium intake manifold

6 Strut (59) to crankcase

NOTE: On engines with plastic intake manifold

7 Unplug connector of AC compressor (8)
8 Unbolt bracket of AC compressor line at wheelhousing
- Model 170

NOTE: Do not detach lines

9 Unbolt AC compressor (8)

NOTE: Attach to vehicle with lines connected

10 Disconnect crankcase ventilation line (6) at power steering pump/AC compressor carrier

11 Unbolt power steering pump/AC compressor carrier (49)

NOTE: Installation: clean sealing surfaces, replace shaped rubber gasket (50). Align power steering pump carrier (49) to timing case cover to gap size "A" = 5 mm before tightening bolts to enable power steering pump (49) to be installed.

12 Install in the reverse order

DANGER:
- Risk of accident as a result of vehicle starting off when engine running. Risk of injury as a result of bruises and burns if you insert your hands into engine when it is being started or when it is running.
- Secure vehicle to prevent it starting off.
- Wear closed and dose-fitting work clothes.
- Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.


13 Run engine and inspect for leaks.
