Clutch Switch: Description and Operation

Task
Supplying a signal to the engine control module when the clutch is operated in order to
- Stabilize idle speed
- Switch off cruise control

Function
The switch has a contact which switches to GND.
Clutch pedal not depressed: contact closed.
Clutch pedal depressed: contact open.

The starter control is activated by the engine control module when the clutch pedal is depressed.
