Removing and installing ignition lock shift lock cable

TRANSMISSION 722.6 in MODEL 220

Removing, installing

1 Disconnect ground cable from battery

2 Remove cover on center console

3.1 Remove communication/navigation
Note: With code 350a only

4 Remove center console

5 Unscrew fixing escutcheon on electronic ignition/starter switch control module

6 Pull electronic ignition/starter switch control module out of instrument panel

7 Press retaining lugs together (arrows) and move out shift lock cable on electronic ignition/starter switch control module in direction of arrow
Installation: Switch ignition lock to position "O".
Function test:
^ It should only be possible to shift the selector lever out of position "P" in ignition lock position "2" and when the brake pedal is depressed.
^ It should only be possible to remove the ignition key in selector lever position "P".

8 Unlock shift cable on electronic shift lever module control module
Note: Unlock retaining lugs in direction of arrow and pull off shift lock cable

9 Take shift lock cable out of instrument panel
Note: Do not damage sound deadening mat when removing.

10 Install in reverse order
