Removal and Replacement



Remove/install Power Steering Pump
- except CODE (487a) Active Body Control [Model 220]


Shown On Engine 112:






1 Remove poly-V-belt (130)
2.1 Extract oil from supply reservoir

NOTE: Except model 210 with level control.

2.2 Disconnect feed line from reservoir

NOTE: Model 210 with level control.

3 Detach return line (30f)

NOTE: Seal off line connection with blind plug.

4 Unscrew high-pressure stretch hose (30i)

NOTE:
- Seal off line connection with blind plug.
- Installation: Check O-ring (30h) or sealing rings, replace if necessary.

5 Detach high-pressure hose and suction line from tandem pump

NOTE: Vehicles with level control Seal off intake line with clamp and line connections with blind plugs.

6 Detach power steering pump (30)

NOTE:
- Vehicles without level control In addition detach the reservoir (30a) and together with the power steering pump (30) move forwards out of the guide rail of the reservoir (30a).
- Installation: Replace self-tapping screws if necessary observing the following:
- Never retap the thread
- Use original screws only
- Screws must be screwed in perfectly straight
- Do not use an impact wrench

7 Remove reservoir (30a) by pressing out locking ring (30c) using a suitable screwdriver

NOTE:
- Except model 210 with level control
- Removal: The reservoir (30a) can also be removed when the power steering pump is installed
- Installation. Check sealing ring (30b) replace if necessary. Ensure that the circlip (30c) is seated correctly.

8 Install in the reverse order
9 Filling and bleeding power steering pump
