Remove/Install Side Airbag Sensor

Procedure
Passengers or drivers seat must be removed.

1. Remove ignition key.
2. Detach and turn over floor covering in area of sensor.
3. Unclip connector [1] at side airbag sensor:
A53 - Side airbag sensor, driver's side.
A54 - Side airbag sensor, passenger's side.
4. Remove screws [2] and take off sensor.
5. Reverse procedure to install.

The side airbag sensor has an arrow printed on it's case. Depending on which side of the vehicle the sensor is properly located the arrow must point outward.

Note: The SRS Malfunction Indicator Lamp in the instrument cluster must go out within 20 seconds after switching ignition ON. After installing, perform diagnostics. See Testing and Inspection/System Diagnosis.
