REPLACEMENT EMISSION CONTROL LABELS AND VIN TAGS FOR VEHICLES

Emission Control Labels

Please be advised that it is not possible to order replacement Emission Control Information Labels and or Emission Control Vacuum Diagram Labels for any Mercedes-Benz vehicle. These labels are only required at time of import, point of first sale and in some state inspection maintenance programs. The part numbers are not available and will not show up in the system.

In the event that customers do require a replacement label, because it is missing or was damaged in an accident, for example; a request must be made to the Mercedes-Benz USA Customer Assistance Center (1-800-FOR-MERCedes). In place of a label, a letter, containing a statement of conformity to applicable Emission Standards, will be provided.

VIN Labels

VIN labels / tags are also not available unless there is an error in the original tag. If this is the case, requests are to be made from dealers to Service Parts Operations Managers (SPOM's) for a replacement. An SPOM will be dispatched for VIN verification and also to supervise the replacement and disposal of the incorrect tag.
