Vacuum Element For Blend Flap

The blend flap vacuum elements actuate the blend flaps (air from the heater core) for control of the air to the center nozzle.

The blend flap vacuum elements are designed as single stage vacuum elements.

Function:

The vacuum element for the blend flap (45) is controlled by the automatic A/C pushbutton control module via the valve block (Y11).
In the open state, vacuum is present at the vacuum element for the blend flap (45). The blend flap is opened momentarily when the system switches over from cooling to heating and vice versa (mode change). This ensures that the temperature of the air exiting from the center nozzle changes slowly for comfortable regulation of the temperature in the vehicle passenger compartment.
