AR18.00-P-1250D Test Oil Pressure



Test Oil Pressure

Remove/Install
1 Remove engine trim panel or cleaner

NOTE: Detach engine cover or air cleaner by lifting vertically up and off the cylinder head covers.

2 Remove viscous fan (8)

NOTE: Right-hand thread!

3 Remove fan shroud (9).
- On model 163 unscrew bottom bolts at fan shroud.

4 Remove screw plug (4) together with seal (5) at timing case

NOTE: Installation: Replace sealing ring.

5 Connect oil-pressure manometer (1) to connecting pipe (2) on timing case

Inspecting
6 Inspect engine oil level, adjust to correct level if necessary
7 Connect remote thermometer (6)

NOTE: Insert temperature sensor through the oil-dipstick's guide tube into the engine oil.

DANGER!
- Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury as working around the engine during start-up or while running may result in contusions and burns
- Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.
- Wear closed and tight-fitting work clothes.
- Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.


8 Start engine, measure oil pressure

NOTE:
- Bring engine up to operating temperature (approx. 80 degrees C).
- When accelerator is operated, oil pressure must rise instantly.

9 Install in the reverse order.
