Lowering

DANGER:
- Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.
- Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 degrees C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure.
- Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.
- Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.



1 Open cooling system cap (2) at coolant expansion reservoir (1)

NOTE:
- Cap with detent: Carefully rotate cap to first detent, release overpressure and unscrew cap.
- 2-stage and 1-stage cap: Rotate cap half a revolution in counterclockwise direction, release overpressure, then unscrew cap.

2.1 Remove engine compartment paneling
2.2 Remove underride guard
- Model 163, 463

3 Remove air baffle
- Model 163 with Engine 113.942

4 Drain coolant
- Collect coolant

NOTE: Observe regulations for disposal of coolant.

Filling system with coolant
5 Fill with coolant


6 Bleed coolant system

NOTE: Let engine run, put heater on full heat output.

7 Inspect cooling system for leaks.
