Front seat cushion and backrest cushion removed. Service and Repair






Control cable for inside backrest lock
Handle recess (1)
unscrew and remove.

Clamping nut on release handle
loosen.

Nut on pull sleeve
unscrew. When installing do not turn pull sleeve.

Control cable and pull sleeve
disconnect on release handle.

Cable straps on backrest
open.

Control cable
unhook from locking mechanism and remove.

Control cable
install without play in opposite order.


Control cable for outside backrest lock.
Side covering on backrest frame removed. [1][2]Procedures

Clamping nut on release handle
loosen.

Nut on pull sleeve
unscrew. When installing do not turn pull sleeve.

Control cable and pull sleeve
unhook on release handle.

Bolt on backrest hinge
remove (backrest unlocked).

Locking mechanism
pull downward slightly, unhook control cable and pull up and out.

Do not damage plastic bushings in backrest hinge when installing.



Removal, Installation

Cable control for inside backrest lock





1 Unscrew handle recess and remove.






2 Loosen clamping nut and screw off nut for pull sleeve (arrows).
3 Remove control cable and pull sleeve on release handle.






4 Open cable straps and expose control cable.






5 Unhook control cable on backrest lock while observing bellows and completely remove pull cable.
6 Install control cable and adjust to play of 0 - 1 mm.
7 Reinstall in opposite order.



Control cable for outside backrest lock





1 Remove side covering on backrest frame. [1][2]Procedures
2 Loosen clamping nut on release handle and screw nut off of pull sleeve (arrows).
3 Unhook control cable and pull sleeve on release handle.






4 Remove retaining ring on inside of bolt for backrest hinge.






5 Carefully knock out bolt with 17 mm dia. plastic punch; unlock backrest for this purpose.
Do not damage plastic bushing during installation (arrow).






6 Pull locking mechanism downward slightly and unhook control cable.
7 Unhook pull sleeve while paying attention to bellows and pull upward and out.
8 Install control cable and adjust to play of 0-1 mm.
9 Reinstall in opposite order
