Vehicles up to 12/93
The interior central locking locks or unlocks the compartments in the vehicle with the central locking, if this is operated from the outside with the key or infrared remote control.

Vehicles as of 01/94 without infrared remote central locking (IRCL)
The interior central locking locks or unlocks the compartments in the vehicle with the central locking, if this is operated from the outside with the key.

Vehicles as 01/94 with Infrared remote central locking (IRCL)
The interior central locking locks or unlocks the compartments in the vehicle with the central locking, if this is operated with the infrared remote control. The interior central locking is not operated by the mechanical key.







The central locking interior control levers have no influence on the interior central locking.







The interior central locking can also be locked with the lock of the glove box. In order to do this, turn the main key to the right (b) up to the stop, and remove in the horizontal position.
The interior central locking now remains independent of the central locking in the locked condition (e.g. when the vehicle is left in workshop).

In the event of a failure of the interior central locking, the lock on the glove box lid and on the spectacles compartment can be operated mechanically.

Unlocking:
Turn the key in the glove box lock to the right up to the stop and remove in the vertical position (a).

Locking:
Turn key in the glove box lock to the right up to the stop (b) and remove in the vertical position (a).
