Activating Instrument Cluster




Activating instrument cluster (A1)
When the instrument cluster (A1) is activated.
- the current contents are shown in the display and
- The instrument cluster illumination is switched on.

The instrument cluster is activated when terminal 15r is switched on. Once terminal 15r is switched off the instrument cluster (A1) remains active for a further 30 seconds after any warning messages have expired.

The instrument cluster (A1) is activated under the following conditions when terminal 15r is off:
- When the trip odometer reset button (A1s3) is pressed (instrument cluster (A1) is activated for 30 seconds)
- When the button for instrument and search illumination (bright) (A1s4) (instrument cluster (A1) is activated for 30 seconds),
- When the button for instrument and search illumination (dark) (A1s5) (instrument cluster (A1) is activated for 30 seconds)
- When the driver's door is opened or closed (instrument cluster (A1) is activated for 30 seconds),
- When the side light or driving light is switched on (the instrument cluster stays awake as long as the side light is switched on.)


NOTE: If one of the conditions mentioned occurs while the instrument cluster (A1) is still active, the instrument (luster stays awake for a further 30 seconds from this point. The instrument cluster (A1) cannot be activated with the multifunction steering wheel buttons.


Input signals (see figure at end of text)
- The status of the left front door contact switch (S17/3) on reft-hand steering or right front door contact switch (S17/4) on right-hand steering) is read in by the instrument cluster (A1) via discrete lines.
- The status of the side light (On/Off) is transferred to the (instrument cluster (A1) from the light module (N7-1) via a discrete line (terminal 58K).
