CAUTION: General notes for working on vehicles with level control/ADS

1.1 Detach connecting rod or connecting linkage (7) from level controller lever (arrows)
1.2 Remove linkage rod for suspension-control module/torsion bar at ball joint
2 Detach torsion bar connecting rod from torsion bar

Press torsion bar up

NOTE: Improves access to drain plug in suspension-control module (3p)

3 Attach oil drain hose (061) to oil drain plug (3p) on level controller (3)

DANGER:
- Risk of injury to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure. Risk of poisoning from swallowing hydraulic fluid.
- Release the pressure in the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.


4 Open oil drain plug (3p) slowly and collect the oil in a clean container
- The oil collected can be re-used.

- Close oil drain plug (3p) again

5 Fill reservoir (2) with fluid

CAUTION: Only re-use clean oil

6 Push level controller lever to "Fill" position (F)

DANGER:
- Risk of accident. Accidents may result if the vehicle starts off unintentionally with the engine running. Risk of injury as working around the engine during start-up or while running may result in contusions and burns
- Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.


7 Start engine and run at moderate speed for approx. 60 seconds
- The system bleeds itself automatically.
- Switch off engine

CAUTION: Installation: Ensure that there is sufficient oil in the reservoir. The pump must never be allowed to draw in air.

8 Push level controller lever into the "Empty" (E) position.

NOTE: The suspension lever must remain in this position for 60 seconds.

9.1 Connect linkage rod or relay linkage (7) to suspension-control module lever (arrows)

CAUTION: Replace self-locking bolts and nuts.

9.2 Connect linkage rod for suspension-control module/torsion bar at ball joint
10 Place the vehicle on its wheels and push it up and down firmly several times

NOTE: The vehicle level adjusts itself.

11 Check and correct oil level in oil reservoir
