Removing and installing ignition lock control cable
Removing, installing
1 Disconnect ground cable of battery
2 Remove ashtray at front of center console
3 Remove bottom section of instrument panel on driver's side
4 Press locking tabs (1a) together and push ignition lock cable (1) out of ignition/starter switch (N73) in the direction of the arrow
CAUTION: Installation: Turn ignition lock to position "O".
Function test:
- It must only be possible to move the selector lever out of position "P" when the ignition lock is in position "2" and the brake pedal is depressed.
- It must only be possible to withdraw the ignition key when the ignition lock is in position "2".
5 Unclip ignition lock cable (1) from electronic selector lever module (N15/5)
NOTE: Press locking tab (1b), twist coupling (1c) through 90 degrees in the direction of the arrow and pull off ignition lock cable (1).
6 Remove ignition lock cable (1) from dashboard
7 Install in the reverse order
