After an emergency call is actuated, an emergency call telegram is automatically generated by the E-CALL control module (A35/8) . It includes the following information:
- Vehicle location
- Type of emergency call actuation Automatically or manually with the EMERGENCY CALL system pushbutton switch (S93/3) ,
- Crash parameters from the emergency tensioning retractor control module with airbag (AB) (N2/2) and the rollover sensor,
- Identification number for identifying vehicle,
- Time of emergency call.

In models 203, 215, 220 the emergency tensioning retractor control module with airbag (AB) (N2/2) is replaced with the restraint system control module (N2/7).

The emergency call telegram is relayed to the E-CALL center via mobile telephone.

In the E-CALL control module (A35/8) up to three generated emergency call telegrams are stored. If already more than three emergency call telegrams are stored the oldest telegram is written over.
