Without Memory
Model 208 as of August 1, 1999 except CODE (275b) Memory package (driver's seat, rear view mirrors)
Function prerequisites
- Circuit 15R OFF and associated vehicle door open or
- circuit 15R ON or
- circuit 15 ON and vehicle speed V <= 5 km/h
- voltage not too high or too low
- longitudinal adjustment synchronized
Function (illustrated on left seat)
The easy entry feature causes the front seat to move forward when the backrest is folded forward. This facilitates entry into the rear. When the backrest is folded back the seat returns to the initial position.
Seat forward motion
When the backrest release knob is pulled up the backrest release pull microswitch (S91/3s1) is actuated. When the backrest is folded forward the backrest inclination microswitch (S91/1) is actuated. The status of these switches is read in by the left partially electric seat adjustment control module (N32/17). When both switches are actuated the driver's seat starts moving forward (additional HHT option: rapid seat adjustment speed. A different motor is also required for higher adjustment speed).
When the front end position is reached the control module switches off the longitudinal drive. The front end position can be adjusted with the HHT; the factory setting is 80 mm in front of the mechanical end stop.
NOTE: If the motion of the seat is stopped before reaching the end position, the initiated motion is continued only after pulling the backrest release handle again (S91/3s1 actuated) and a short delay time (HHT option: factory setting 0.5 s).
Seat return motion
When the backrest release handle is pressed the backrest release press microswitch (S91/3s2) is actuated and the seat return is started. If the handle is released before reaching the end position the motion stops.
This function is the same for both front seats.
Abnormal termination conditions
- Switch for seat adjustment actuated
- Repeat protection active
- Hall sensor defective
