Function of Gear Shift

FUNCTION
- On automatic transmission 722.6 the electrohydraulic control unit converts the electrical signals originating from the Electronic Transmission Control (ETC) unit into hydraulic signals.

- The shift linkage makes the mechanical connection between selector lever and transmission in selector lever positions "P", "R", "N" and "D". Selector lever positions "4", "3", "2" and "1" are triggered electrically, the transmission can only shift up to the gear erected.

- Faults occurring in the ETC are covered by the emergency running mode system. It is designed so that the driver can reach a service Operation even under extreme conditions.
