Adapter lead and firing device can be obtained through parts channels.

The loose airbags, side airbags or emergency tensioning retractors should be fired in a scrap vehicle (with doors closed) if possible. Position the loose airbags or side airbags in the footwell with the exit opening on top. If a suitable vehicle is not available, the airbag or side airbag can be fired as follows in a transport container for reconditioned engines with the cover closed in exceptional cases.

1. Insert 2-pin connector (8) into unit to be scrapped.
2. Turn rotary switch (4) to position "1".
3. Move to prescribed safe distance (10 m, corresponding to length of ignition cable), then press the battery check button (2) and firing button (3) simultaneously. When firing in a scrap vehicle always stand in front of the vehicle. After firing the firing indicator lamp (5) comes on.

NOTE: The 2-pin connector (8) is damaged when a loose airbag unit is fired. For this reason it is necessary to disconnect the adapter cable at the connector (7) and replace it.
