Removing, installing
DANGER: Risk of explosion as a result of fuel vapors igniting. Risk of poisoning as a result of inhaling fuel vapors. Risk of injury as a result of fuel coming into contact with skin and eyes.
- No fire, naked flame or smoking. Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriate marked containers. Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.
1 Empty fuel tank, fill
- Pay attention to capacity.
- Refer to Fuel Tank below
2 Remove rear suspension completely, install
3 Remove inner liner in rear wheelhouse, install
NOTE: Rear right
- Model 202
4 Slacken hose clip (83/1) of the connection hose in the bottom of the filler neck
5 Pinch off fuel hose (90/12) at the suction side and vent hose (84/6) with Pierburg fuel pump
- Model 202.018/208
6 Unscrew nut (80/1) at bottom of filler neck
7.1 Unbolt fuel metering pump (Y23)
- Model 202.133/193
- Model 208.374 (AMG)
NOTE: On right in front of fuel gage sender
8 Take off tensioning straps (80/2)
NOTE: Support fuel tank with lift for this step

Fuel tank suspension modified
- Models 202, 208
9 Loosen sound insulation mat (80/8)
- To do this, lower Lift approx. 30 cm
Sound insulation mat no longer used, fuel tank modified
- Model 202
10 Unscrew nuts (80/7) from fuel tank
NOTE: Fuel tank without rubber lugs

11 Remove fuel strainer
NOTE: Clean and check suitability for re-use.

12 Install in reverse order
13 Dispose of fuel tank
