K40 Relay module
K40/4 Fuse and relay module
L5 Crankshaft position sensor
M16/1 Electronic accelerator (EA)/cruise control (CC)/idle speed control (ISC) actuator further designation:
M16/6 throttle valve actuator
N3/10 ME-SFI control module
Y2/1 Electromagnetic clutch
Task
Switching the supercharger on and off by actuating the electromagnetic clutch. Dependent on:
- engine speed
- throttle valve position
(USA) Supercharger is actuated additionally for secondary air injection.
Design
The electromagnetic clutch is actuated by means of a GND signal supplied by the engine control module. The voltage is supplied either by the relay module or fuse and relay module, respectively.
Function
The supercharger cuts in from a speed of about 2200 rpm irrespective of the throttle valve position. The supercharger remains engaged in the inertia fuel shutoff phase. This avoids any delayed response of the engine in the transition from the deceleration to acceleration phase.
