Splash Bowl, Function
The fuel from the left fuel tank chamber is delivered to the defoamer (A) via the feed (B). From there and from the right fuel tank chamber (feed bore C), the fuel enters the storage tank (b) open at the top, from which it is drawn in by the fuel pump via the openings (c), the pipe (d) and the connection (g). The splashpot (80/5) is vented via the bore (e) and filled with fuel via the bore (f). If not enough or no fuel can be drawn in via the storage tank (b) when the fuel level in the tank is low and under unfavorable driving conditions, the air drawn in through the opening (c) enters the splashpot through the bore (e) while at the same time the corresponding volume of fuel is removed through the bore (f).
