Sliding/Pop-Up Roof (SR) Position Measurement, Function

Recognition Of Direction Of Rotation:

Recognition of direction of rotation
Two Hall sensors (b1, b2) are located on the motor shaft in the sliding/pop-up roof drive assembly (M12 or M12/1). They react to the motion of the magnet. They transmit a square wave pulse each time the motor shaft completes one rotation. The overhead control panel control module (N70) reads in the these Hall pulses. The overhead control panel control module (N70) recognizes the rotation direction of the motor due to the time offset between the pulses from Hall sensor b1 and the pulses from Hall sensor b2.

Position measurement
The position counter in the overhead control panel control module (N70) counts the Hall pulses depending on the recognized rotation direction of the motor in the sliding/pop-up roof drive assembly (M12 or M12/1 ). The position counter is increased when the pop-up roof closes or the sliding roof opens. When the pop-up roof is opened or the sliding roof closed the position counter decreases. The open position of the pop-up roof is defined as the zero position, i.e. if the pop-up roof is completely open, the position counter must be set to zero. Zeroing can be accomplished by synchronizing the sliding/pop-up roof. When the zero position is exceeded in the "open" direction the count becomes negative.
