Function of Power Flow In Reverse Gear Program Selection "S"

PRINCIPLE OF POWER TRANSMISSION IN REVERSE GEAR PROGRAM SELECTOR SWITCH POSITION "S"
- Via the input shaft (1) and using the center and rear planetary gear set the torque from the torque converter is increased and transmitted in the opposite direction to the output shaft (5).

FRONT PLANETARY GEAR SET
- The internally-geared wheel (V4) is driven via the input shaft (1). In drive mode the sun gear (V1) is supported on the housing via the locked freewheel F1 and in overrun mode via the engaged multiple-disc brake B1. The planet gears (V2) roll on the fixed sun gear (V1) and make for an increase in torque from the internally-geared wheel (V4) to the planet carrier (V31. The planet carrier (V31 moves at a reduced speed in the direction of rotation of the engine.

REAR PLANETARY GEAR SET
- The planet carrier (H3) is fixed to the housing by the engaged multiple-disc brake B3. The internally-geared wheel (H4) rotates at reduced speed due to the mechanical connection to the front-planet carrier (V3). The planet gears (H2) roll between the internally-geared wheel (H4) and sun gear (H1). The direction reverses due to the fixed planet carrier (H3) so that the sun gear (H1) rotates in the opposite direction to the engine.

CENTER PLANETARY GEAR SET
- The internally-geared wheel (M4) is fixed to the housing by multiple-disc brake B3 via the mechanical connection to the planet carrier (H3). The sun gear (M1) rotates backwards due to the engaged multiple-disc clutch K3. The planet gears (M2) roll on the fixed internally-geared wheel (M4) and make for an increase in torque from the sun wheel (M1) to the planet carrier (M3). The output shaft (5) connected to the planet carrier (M3) rotates at reduced speed in the Opposite direction to the engine
