1 Connect quiescent current retention device (7) as follows:
- Connect terminal on positive lead (+) to positive pole on battery.
- Connect terminal on negative lead (-) to battery ground (W10)
2 Switch on quiescent current retention device (7)







3 Disconnect negative pole terminal (1) from battery.
4 Connect multimeter (2) with electrical connection set (201 589 00 90 00):
- Connect positive test cable (+) to negative lead (1) on battery.
- Connect negative test cable (-) to negative pole (3) on battery.







5 Switch on multimeter (2) (amps mode).
6 Switch off quiescent current retention device (7) and disconnect.
7 Extend test cable (6) out of engine compartment.
