System interlinkage

After "ignition ON" the transponder is supplied with power. The data block is transmitted inductively by the transponder coil (L11) to the radio frequency DAS control module (N54/3) where it is evaluated.

If valid the engine control is enabled analog to drive authorization system 2a by a signal from the radio frequency DAS control module (N54/3) to the engine control module via the CAN bus.

If the transponder is invalid or it is not possible to build up power for the transponder the engine control is not released. This is indicated by the message "START ERROR" in the instrument cluster.


NOTE: The drive authorization is independent from the lock status of the central locking and the batteries in the remote control key.
