Left/Right Side Airbag Sensors:

A53 Driver side airbag sensor
A54 Passenger side airbag sensor
1 Electrical connection
2 Screw

The side airbag sensors sense the acceleration acting in the lateral direction of the vehicle in the event of a side collision and initiate a logic check in the ETR control module with airbag (N2/2). If the values coincide a triggering signal is sent to the side airbag squibs (R12/9 and R12/10).
