Function
In the case 6f the low emission EURO3 exhaust concept, the engine diagnosis malfunction indicator lamp (A1e58) with engine symbol is installed in the instrument cluster. It is actuated at the GND side by the engine control module. As a check of bulb operation, the lamp come on for 1 second at ignition ON and from an engine speed of approx. 500 rpm. If no fault is present, the engine control module interrupts the GND and the lamp goes out.
