Component Tests and General Diagnostics

The remote control signal from the infrared remote control key or the spare infrared remote control key can be made visible with an infrared indicator card (e.g. IR-A2, available from electronic dealers, e.g. Conrad Electronic).
For this purpose it is first necessary to charge up the indicator card in daylight. Then hold the indicator card directly in front of the transmitter field of the infrared remote control key in a darkened room and hold the remote control button down. The signal from the remote control key can be seen in the form of an illuminated green dot in the indicator field.

It is also possible to check whether a remote control signal from the infrared remote control key is received by the infrared control module. See Testing and Inspection, Diagnosis (test step, control line IR signal).

NOTE This test does not, however, provide any information on whether the remote control signal is coded properly (correct locking system number).
