Front Door Window Glass: Adjustments
Preliminary work:
Door liner removed
Crank window (1)
close.
Check contact pressure
of window in window guide channel on window frame, outside top in area (A), check clearance with 0.30 mm feeler gauge.
Correct
by adjusting upper stop on window lift mechanism (arrow).
Crank window position (1)
check in relation to vertical window guide channel in area (B), clearance 0.30 mm.
Position
can be corrected by loosening screws (2) 10 mm on window lift bar and moving window toward front or rear.
Check parallel position of window
in relation to rear, vertical window guide channel.
Adjust
by moving crank window back and forth and loosening screws (4 and 6) on window lift bar.
Slider on rear window guide rail
lubricate, use MB-Lubricant Paste part no. 000 989 31 51.
Door liner
install.
Special tools
Adjustment
1 Close crank window.
2 Check contact pressure of crank window in window guide channel at window frame at top from outside.
3 Adjust upper stop on window lift mechanism so that clearance between window guide channel and outer edge of glass is uniform. Use special tool (feeler gauge 0.3 mm).
Top window lift stop
4 Check position of window in relation to vertical window guide channel.
5 Check clearance over entire length using 0.3 mm feeler gauge.
6 Adjust by loosening screw (arrow) on window lift bar and moving window toward front or rear.
Check vertical clearance and adjust, if required
7 Check parallel position of window at rear vertical window guide channel.
8 Adjust by moving window back and forth after loosening front and rear screws on window lift bar (arrows).
9 Coat slider on rear window guide rail with MB-Lubricant Paste part number 000 989 31 51.
10 Check automatic closing operation (Repair Instructions 82-605).
11 Install door liner.
