Combination Switch: Service and Repair

Preliminary work:
Steering wheel removed.
Contact spiral removed.
Steering angle sensor removed.
Cover below instrument removed. Service and Repair






Ground cable at battery
disconnect, connect.

Screws (1) if airbag fitted
unscrew, screw in.

Cover plate (2) if airbag fitted (up to approx. 01/93)
take out, insert.

Screws (3)
unscrew, screw in.

Combination switch connector (S4x1)
unplug; push the bar (arrow) to do this; plug together, push back bar to do this.

Cruise control switch connector (S40x1) if cruise control fitted
unplug, plug in.

Casing tube covering (4)
pull off, fit on.

Cruise control switch (S40) if cruise control fitted
take out of casing tube covering (4), insert.

Combination switch (S4)
take out of casing tube covering (4), insert.

After connecting the battery perform the following work
Set clock in instrument cluster.
Code radio.
If applicable code auto pilot system (APS) and load language.
Synchronize power windows.
If applicable set timer for stationary heater.
On vehicles with ADS reactivate steering angle sensor.
