Navigation Module: Service and Repair








Navigation processor up to approx. 11/96






Navigation processor as of approx. 12/96


CD-ROM in navigation processor
remove (only when replacing navigation processor).

Quiescent current retention unit
disconnect, connect.

Ground cable at battery
disconnect, connect.

Holder (1)
remove, install.

Electrical connections on rear of navigation processor (A2/3O)
disconnect, connect.
(only for vehicles as of approx. 12/96)

Electrical connections on control module
disconnect, connect.
(only for vehicles up to approx. 11/96)

Navigation processor
remove from holder (1) together with CD-ROM drive (A2/30), install


NOTE: Before installing a new navigation processor with CD-ROM drive, remove transport lock.


NOTE: When replacing the navigation processor with CD-ROM drive (A2/3O) the system must be put into operation, because it is necessary to store specific vehicle data. For vehicles with navigation processor up to 11/96 a test CD is required for this purpose.

Activation of the language requires approx. 30 minutes.
