Electrically Adjustable

Preliminary work:
Head restraint removed







Driver's seat
move forward with fore and aft adjustment. Follow note!
Screw (1, 2 and 3)
screw out on the seat guide rails at rear (25 Nm).
Control cable (adjustment for upper belt guide)
unhook at rear of seat frame by removing cap to the rear and pivoting hook-in tab and 90° pulling off.
Cover (4)
remove.
Screw (5)
screw out of belt end fitting. WAF 17 (35 Nm).
Driver's seat
move back with fore and aft adjustment.
Screws (6 and 7)
screw out (25 Nm).
Bracket (10)
unclip and remove.
Control cable sleeve (11)
unclip at front of seat frame and remove.
Cover (12)
unscrew (2 screws) and remove.
Cable strap
open.
Vacuum line and electrical connections
separate or disconnect at front of seat frame (arrow) (plug and withdrawal aid).
Driver's seat
remove and lay down with backrest on a suitable surface.
Covers (8 and 9)
remove from seat rails; let driver's seat down on seat frame only after removing these covers, otherwise covers 8 and 9 may be damaged.
Reinstall in opposite order.







NOTE: Removal of driver's seat with defective fore and aft adjustment:


Seat cushion depth
position forward as far as the stop.
Front seat cushion fixing screws (2 pieces, 14 and 15)
unscrew.
Front seat cushion
fold up (arrow).
Cover (12)
remove (2 screws).
Control unit for memory (16)
release (2 screws).
Cable strap
open.
Control unit for memory (16)
remove forward and detach plug connectors.
Screws (17, 2 pieces)
unscrew from potentiometer (18, center motor on the outer side of seat).
Bracket (19)
remove.
Potentiometer (18)
remove.
Screws (20, 2 pieces) on motor (21) for fore and aft adjustment (center motor on the outside of seat)
unscrew, by using the socket wrench insert internal torx T25.
Motor (21)
remove.
Flexible shaft on fore and aft adjustment gear
turn using internal square socket wrench (WAF 3.5 mm) or with an intact motor until access to the seat fixing screws is possible.
