Function of Reverse Wiping
When the windshield wiper is switched on and the transmission is shifted into reverse the rear wiper is also switched on.
The signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) (N10/1) recognizes that the transmission has been shifted into reverse gear by receipt of a corresponding CAN message from the lower control panel control module (N72).
If the windshield wiper is switched to intermittent wiping the SAM sends a CAN message to the PSE control module (combined) (A37) synchronous with actuation of the wiper motor (M6/1). The PSE control module starts the rear window wiper motor (M6/4) for one wiping operation in each case. The front and rear wipers operate synchronously.
If the "windshield wiping" function is switched on, the SAM sends a CAN message to the PSE control module as long as the transmission is in reverse.
The PSE control module switches the relay for the rear wiper motor as long as it receives the CAN message.
If the function "rear window intermittent wiping" is switched on, this has priority.
